Looking at the numbers the movie is generating, it seems likely that it might break many more records in its wake and could end up becoming the first Hindi movie to reach the Rs. 500 crore mark.
The first part grossed about Rs 650 crore internationally. The complete franchise has had box office collections of above Rs 1,650 crore.
The film has broken the record earlier set by Aamir Khan's magnum opus Dangal which breached the psychological mark of Rs 350 crore for the first time in Bollywood. It went on to become the biggest Hindi film industry blockbuster of all times. Within months, Dangal’s record lies shattered.
Let’s have a look at the first timers of the various clubs as they are called: Ghajinibecame the first film to cross Rs 100 crore; 3 Idiots earned Rs 200 crore for the first time; and PK was the first to land in the Rs 300-crore club.

While Prabhas was unknown to Hindi audiences, Rana Daggubati has featured in movies such as Dum Maro DumDepartment, Baby and The Ghazi Attack.
There were predictions that Baahubali would sweep the box office across the world! The film has all the run-of-the-mill elements thus having something for every section of the society. It’s a good story with emotions, action, drama, and histrionics.

Baahubali shows the power of suspense

Many critics were of the view that the hype and created around "Why Katappa Killed Baahubali?" was overdone and may not be able to carry through the momentum generated by the first part. Some even thought that the sequel must suffer as a result. However, this was not to be. It seems that the calculation of the producers of the movie about the timing was also spot on.
The first part Bahubali - the beginning was released on 10 July 2015 and Bahubali 2 - the conclusion was released on 27 April 2017, with the gap of 657 days. The first episode too had all these ingredients in a generous measure. The director took the risk of keeping the audience guessing and thus succeeded in creating an X factor.
The inconclusive end in a movie was an unusual thing and the audience is not used to it and thus the hidden climax kept the audience glued till they were able to lay hands on the next episode. Record box office collections are testimony of the advantages of the X factor. The suspense became immensely popular; even the Prime Minister referred to it in a speech.
